Vodafone, Optus pre-paid, no contracts, CDMA
etc etc. with so many service providers to choose from not to mention
price plans it is very easy for the average person to get confused
and frustrated by all the advertising and hype thrown at him by
the phone companies.
There are basically five main mobile service
providers in Australia, Vodafone, Virgin, Optus, Orange and Telstra. The
cheapest of which is Orange. But Orange uses a CDMA network which
means that you could not bring your existing mobile phone over to
use as most mobile phones that are used world wide uses SIM card
technology and the GSM network.
Most international students prefer to use Optus
pre-paid instead as Optus provides free calls of up to 20 minutes
to another Optus user from 9 pm to midnight. No matter which operator
that you choose to go with, be sure to look at all the price plans
before making your decision.
