Before coming over to Wollongong for your studies it is often better to buy your own laptop as electronics and computer products are pretty expensive compared to countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia etc.

If you can't afford a laptop and want to get a desktop instead, the best palce to get it would be during the Computer Fair held monthly at Unanderra. The fair sells everthing from hardware to cables, software, second hand laptops and DIY computers. Prices at the fair are usually cheaper by about a few hundred dollars compared to prices at places like David Jones and other computer shops.

At the fair itself, you might want to go around comparing prices before deciding on which system to buy and always remember to get a proper receipt with the vendors name and address on it for warranty purposes.
