There are 5 gallaries and museums scattered around the city of
Wollongong. There is somting for everyone from paintings to old
motor vehicles whatever your interest there is always something
for everyone. Listed below are their locations and a brief desciption
of what they have on display.
Illawarra Historical Museum
- Market Street, Wollongong. The museum is housed in the original
Wollongong Post Office not really sure what they have on display
though as none of us has been there before.
Illawarra Motoring Museum -
Northcliffe Drive, Kembla Grange. As the name of the museum suggests,
the museum has a large display of motor vehicles and motoring memorabilia.
The musuem is open from 10am-4pm, Wednesday to Sunday only.
Articles Art Gallery
- Stanwell Park, just off Lawrence Hargrave Drive. The only musuem
in Wollongong that displays and sells original Australian paintings
and pottery.
Black Diamond Heritage Museum
- The musuem is housed in the old Bulli Railway Station building,
displays railway memorabilia.
